Self Evaluation

My experience with this class has been a roller-coaster. It started with Ben and I, who were already friends, finding the two closest people to join our group. This spawned a very interesting semester, namely when the online classes started.

The amount of work that was assigned with this class proved to be somewhat bulky, and time consuming. That being said, my group always did pull through. In the end, we came out with a video that was at the quality level we desired.

Personally, I felt like I did a lot of the work because I recorded the lines and edited the video, but my partners did a lot of work as well (and they all had more classes than I do, since I luckily only had 4). They were always quick to jump to my rescue whenever I needed help, and on the very last class Ben even took one for the team and helped edit the website while I scramble to put in the very last slides of the video project.

The biggest challenge we faced had to be an issue of motivation. In part due to a global pandemic, and being overwhelmed by every class and an entirely new learning format, it was difficult to adjust and keep up. This is something I’m still worried about when I start university in the Fall.

Not only did I finally find a group that did more or less equal parts in a project, but I made some friends along the way. When online classes hit, our little Discord group blew up with memes and jokes to pass the empty minutes quarantine offered. In my heart, we’ll always be the “Media Lads.”
